the APPYs
Started off with freshly baked sweet honey and multigrain bread with whipped butter. There's always a new type of bread or loaf baked daily so its always a surprise!
We then had a dreamy Lobster luau soup with sweet potato crisp. Its a small serving size but as its a rich soup and you want to save room for everything else on the menu, its perfect.
The Spicy mahimahi soup with haiku cherry tomato and couscous had a good amount of heat and savoriness to round things out.
The Macadamia nut crab cakes with fire and ice relish disappeared like magic. Generously packed with lots of crabmeat, they were then encrused in macadamia nuts and deep fried to perfection. Nom!
The Wasabi crusted calamari... was a calamari steak.. I want ALL my calarmi as steaks now! Its encrusted with a wasabi seasoned panko crumb crust, deep fried and the calamari steak was tender and just amazing. Must try!
The Mahimahi stuffed with lobster and crab and baked in a macadamia nut crust was cooked just right with neither the lobster, crab nor mahimahi encrusted with crispy macadamia nuts being overcooked.
The Ahi sauteed in Panang curry and coconut milk with tropical condiments and Mama's mango chutney was tasty with a multitude of flavors waking up the seared ahi tuna steak.
The Tristan Island Rock Lobster tails was the winner of the night. They're caught by deep diving down to 200m from most remote inhabited island in the world.
They are only exported to Hawaii and Japan as its prized for its exceptionally sweet, succulent meat and creamy silky texture. If you must only try one item here - this is the one. Fiancé still daydreams about the perfectly and simply cooked sweet creamy lobster.
the DESSSERTs
You have to save room for their award winning desserts. A Polynesian Black Pearl - Liliko'i chocolate mousse in a pastry seashell was shared by our group. This passionfruit chocolate mousse is almost too pretty to eat. Nomnomnom!
the VERDICT
A wonderful seaside fine dining restaurant that just does seafood right - from local catches to seafood from further flung beaches. Save room for their award winning jaw droppingly gorgeous desserts and make reservations ahead of time so you can enjoy the seaside view as you eat.
