Denmark in a day (or 3!) - Copenhagen - Food lovers dream come true - Torvehallerne KBH Farmer's market and Israels Plads outdoor produce stalls Part 3!

In our 5 part series that covered the few days we had eating and exploring Copenhagen, Denmark.. we covered in Part 1 - hotdogs, icecream and snacks, Part 2 - Smørrebrøds of Copenhagen - Aamann's and Restaurant Schønnemanns! and now.. its a foodie's dream come true.. the Torvehallerne KBH Farmer's market and Israels Plads outdoor produce stalls!! Near and dear to the hearts of all local food lovers is their farmer's market. We loved it and it was easy to find just as you get off the Nørreport Station.  Its called Torvehallerne KBH (Address Frederiksborggade 21, 1360 København K) and it has the Israels Plads outdoor produce stalls right beside!

Despite the rainy weather, the place was packed with people picking up groceries and noshing on food outdoors...

...and don't be surprised to see occasional cook-offs between local chefs - we waded through a crowd of cheering fans as this chef turned up the heat on his competition

With 60+ indoor stalls divided over 2 buildings... with so many things for your senses, we practically pranced through it with glee... and then rolled out afterwards full of tasty food and drinks!

Meat/butchers/delis...

Bakeries and sweets...

Sharp pointy shinies...

Olive oil and pickled/marinated tasties...

Wine and Whiskeys (I think)
Flowers...

... I was practically itching to have a kitchen in the hotel room.. next time I'm booking a suite just so I could pick up all sorts of tasty things and cook them up!  There were a bunch of pasta, coffee and eateries for those wanting to graze, and outside, there was a wealth of fresh fruits and vegetables at the Israels Plads outdoor produce stalls

...where we picked up some deliciously sweet tinny (wild?) strawberries...

Whether you go to browse, sniff, sample or nosh, Torvehallerne KBH Farmer's market and Israels Plads outdoor produce stalls are a must go for any foodie when you're staying in Copenhagen!

Stay tuned for part 4 - Andersen Bakery, where you can pick up traditional baked goods - they provide the sweets for the Michelin star restaurant attached to it - Nimb.

And Part 5 Delicious restaurants lining the Nyhavn canal!
